Location

Fulwith House is spectacularly situated on the lower road around Catbells and over looks Causey Pike and Newlands Valley and is only 3 miles from Keswick and a 15 min walk to Derwentwater along the lane.

Accommodation

Fulwith House is a 4 bed-roomed property that sleeps up to 8 people and has been done to a very high standard, with everything you will need for your holiday.

There is a spacious hallway in which to kick-off your boots and hang up your coats. Just off the hallway you will find a games room with table football, a piano and plenty of games to help you relax after a busy day of walking and exploring.

On through to a spacious kitchen which includes an island for food preparation. The kitchen is equipped with an induction range; electric fan oven; dishwasher; fridge freezer; dishwasher; wall-mounted TV and a table and chairs to accommodate 8 people. Seated in front of the patio doors, you will enjoy fantastic views overlooking Newlands Valley.

The Lounge also provides those wonderful views through a second set of patio doors. There are two large sofas to relax on and extra seating too. The room is equipped with a TV/DVD; a wood burning stove (with a supply of logs for your stay) and plenty of books to read if you want a quiet, relaxing day.

You will find the utility room just off the kitchen diner. It is well equipped with washing machine; a separate dryer; a large American fridge freezer and there is also a downstairs WC.

When you go upstairs the landing has a seating area for you to relax and get away from it all. Leading from the landing are 4 bedrooms and a bathroom as follows:

Bedroom one: ‘The Nest’ – King-size bed with en-suite shower; WC; wash basin and built in wardrobe

Bedroom two: ‘The Orchard’ – Twin beds with wardrobe; drawers and bedside cabinets

Bedroom three: ‘The Dormatory’ – Twin beds with wardrobe; set of drawers and bedside cabinets

Bedroom four: ‘The Turrett’ – Double bed with ensuite shower; WC; wash basin; bedside cabinets and drawers

(Bedrooms one, two and three all overlook the patio and have splendid views).

The family bathroom contains  a full-sized bath; walk in shower; WC and wash basin. It offers spectacular views of the Newlands Valley.

The patio area is positioned along the front of the property to take advantage of the views. There is plenty of seating in different areas of the patio.

NB. Visitors should note that garden is ‘steep & rustic’ and currently under development so not really suitable as a play area for young ones.

Walks begin at your door with direct access to the fells – you don’t even have to use your car while you stay here – just a short walk down the lane you can catch the Honister Rambler service (April to October only), which takes you into Keswick or around to Borrowdale and Buttermere. Whichever way it’s going, you will be going on a circular bus route.

The Keswick launch is just a 15 min walk away and will take you across the Lake Derwentwater to Keswick.

The Swinside Inn is just under a mile away which is a traditional old-fashioned traditional pub that serves food.

Internet shopping and delivery is available from Sainsburys and Tesco.

Other features include: Private parking (for 2 cars, three at a push) – Secure storage for bikes; beds made up for your arrival; towels included; travel cot and high chair available; on-call maintenance and housekeeping and a welcome pack for your arrival.
