Rowling End, Newlands

Summary

Sleeps 2-8 People

Location

Rowling End is a traditional Lakeland farmhouse in Newlands Valley, near Keswick. The house offers relaxed, Five Star luxury, for up to eight people. The location provides the perfect holiday base for many Lakeland walks without the need for a car. Whether you are looking to explore the high fells, lakes, valleys or simply wish to enjoy the stunning views, Rowling End is ideally situated.

Rowling End House was lovingly restored in July 2009/2013 by the Kingdon family. It was awarded a 5-star Gold Award by Visit Britain which is renewed every year.

Warning: Please be aware that wooden footbridge that crosses Newlands Beck and links the lower field at Rowling End to Skelgill, is currently down due to flooding. This means that anyone wishing to walk to the lake or climb Catbells via the usual route will not be able to do so at the moment and an alternative route should be sought. The nearest crossings are the bridge at Stair and Chapel Bridge which is just beyond Littletown. The National Trust are planning a replacement bridge in due course and an announcement about that will be made here when further information is available.

Guest Comments

“Just to say thank you so much for the wonderful house. We all had a good holiday, Molly cried when she had to go! We loved the kitchen and Aga, always so warm and it attracted all, so no one of us was left cooking on their own, a real plus”!

“What a stunning house, home from home, we loved the family atmosphere. A great place to relax by a log fire, superior quality throughout”
